
In preparation for Nightingale's 0.5 Realms Rebuilt release, our team received permission to re-design every single Site of Power (dungeon) and boss arena in the game to fit the new quests and story lines, as well as provide much needed variety to the last part of each realm players visit.
Role: My responsibilities were the Portal Well Site of Power at Welkin's Reach, and the Radiant Site of Power in Gloriana's Tears. I worked with the narrative team to create suitable multi-encounter spaces that serve as strong leadups to the final bosses of those realms.
Main Tasks: Paper designs, LDDs, greybox blockouts and kitbashing, functional prototypes, testing/feedback cycles, and additional updates after the art, VFX & audio passes.

Portal Well:
- Welkin’s Reach is a desert realm filled with floating anomalies and crashed airships. At the center of trouble is the Portal Well, which holds a broken portal and a hidden boss deep underground.
- Unlike the majority of encounters created up to this point that are independent from each other, I added overlapping agility and memory puzzle encounters that span the majority of the 100m x 130m space and encourage players to observe their surroundings from multiple heights and angles.

Radiant Site of Power:
- An open-air dungeon located on one end of a giant aqueduct, leading to a boss fight with Yex the Imprisoned
- Yex was a being that helped the realm's ecosystem flourish, and I wanted to incorporate that idea by adding more lush greenery and pools the closer players get to Yex's wormhole, leaving only dust and scattered bones at larger distances.
- The realm contained a lot of grappling and climbing to let players experience improvements in their gear, so the Radiant Site of Power aimed to combine those skills with additional agility and combat challenges.
